a substantial, ornate sterling silver locket with a filagree like pattern surrounding a bold carnelian stone. it's all of the romance and depth of a victorian era piece, but made by Danecraft in the 1980s, rather than the mid/late 1800s. it's large and sturdy and could easily hold portraits or other spells
it was once rhodium or white gold plated and that plating has worn nearly away except for on the interior of the locket, which has a bright white silver hue and shine
solid sterling silver

in good vintage condition
the locket is missing its original bail and has a sturdy replacement bail in its place
the etruscan revival filigree details have stubborn remnants of silver polishing compound of yesteryear. it might require some patience and a toothpick to work the remainder out.
the carnelian stone is free from chips and cracks, but has minor surface wear and scratching
nice snug and easy hinge and snap closure
the inside of the locket is still mostly plated with either a white gold or rhodium, which does have some heavier scratches, likely from a previous acid testing to confirm sterling content
this is a vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
